Bought two of these for Springfield Armory XD-M Elite pistols. Spoke to someone about the fit and was assured that they would fit perfectly. These pistols have Ambidextrous magazine releases. This does not come up far enough to cover it- not safe. I called Customer service and they (two different people) said that the leather is not that thick that it would matter, so in their eyes, none is just as good as some. Ridiculous! Since I had done my due diligence by calling before purchasing them, I expected them to issue a full refund. They still stuck me for $40 in shipping fees. I will never purchase anything from them again.

You're proceeding from a fundamental misunderstanding. Holster-making best practice is actually to NOT cover the magazine release with leather. We very specifically do not cover or contact the mag release with holster material, and this is by intent and design. There are several reasons:

1. The mag release is small, and thus much less likely to be accidentally hit than a larger piece of leather laid over it.

2. By laying a piece of leather over the mag release, you're essentially creating a fulcrum that makes accidental activation of the mag release MORE likely rather than less.

3. Covering the magazine release prevents an administrative reload. Anyone who has attended upper-tier training will understand why the capability of performing an administrative reload is important.

The images in the product detail illustrate very clearly that the magazine release is exposed. Again, this is 100% intentional on our part, and correct holster design.

Great fit for the weapon. Comfortable to wear in a variety of situations.

I now have two of these "COMBAT MASTER BELT HOLSTERS". I bought the first for my Ronin 1911 in 10mm. The second holster was purchased for my 9mm Hellcat Pro. I prefer the OWB holsters with the weapon between 3 & 5 O'clock position on the hip. The design gives me great concealability, and the forward cant of this holster keeps the weapon at a very comfortable location on my hip. I know a lot of people prefer a lightweight EDC weapon on their hip, but the weight of the weapon feels the same whether I am wearing a 21 oz polymer 9mm or a 40 oz full size 1911. Basically, I carry and practice with both holsters & weapons and enjoy all day comfort with each.
