Description

The Original Jackass Rig™ was reintroduced for Galco International’s 30th Anniversary. Galco’s predecessor, "The Famous Jackass Leather Company," first introduced this shoulder system in 1970. It features a horizontal holster that can be adjusted to a more diagonal carry position than our Miami Classic or MCII, attaching to the harness with our swivel connectors.

The ammo carrier has a streamlined yet secure design, while the Premium Center Cut Steerhide™ harness provides unparalleled concealment opportunities, greater adjustment and comfort. All four points of the center cut steerhide harness can pivot independently and are connected by our unique clover-shaped Flexalon™ swivel back plate, which is a Galco trademark.

The Jackass Rig includes holster, harness, ammo carrier and a set of harness fasteners. The Jackass Rig is fully modular. Optional accessories and components may be purchased separately, including commonly-used items like tie-downs.

Made for semiautomatic pistols, the two-tone Jackass Rig is available in right and left hand draw in black holster/ammo carrier finish and contrasting tan harness.

Harness fits chests to 56".

Perfect for a Female Dog Trainer
I am a 5’3” 125 lbs woman. My EDC is a Glock 19. I ordered The Jackass because the customer service manager Mike in the video said it’s better for smaller men and women. I work with German Shepherds on a ranch in Colorado and I needed something that would be quick to throw on and allow me to move and run around with 8 large dogs. The Jackass checks all those boxes. The harness has an adjustment range that reaches even my small frame. I’ve gotten used to wearing it in no time. And most importantly it does not get in the way when I handle dogs. No catching on leashes like a thigh holster sometimes does. I have full access to my pockets and the pocketed training apron I wear. No crazy dogs bumping into my gun like can happen with battle belts. I would recommend this to anyone who has to move a lot and doesn’t want things sticking out!

Miami vice - jack-ass rig
Now retired, I was looking on doing more scouting in upper WI. I enjoy walking deep into areas that are not for ATV. I have owned a Browning BDA since 1978. The holster is now fitting better as I break it in. The plastic bag advice worked to allow me to button across the hammer. I also added some leather oil to all the black parts to soften and relieve the new fit. I think a few more adjustments depending on clothing may fine tune the alignment of the rig. Thanks for the break-in advice. Brad James

Jackass Rig #1
I am a retired police officer/detective, and current private detective in TX. I have been carrying firearms on/off duty and private citizen since 1972! This is my 3rd Jackass rig; the first one was from the original Jackass company. My opinion is that this latest Jackass follows the history of the same qualities of its predecessors. Galco products are excellent. I only recommend three holster companies - Galco being the first on my list.
