With the success of the Kodiak Chest Holster, the Kodiak Hunter™ was sure to follow. This is the ultimate big bore scoped handgun-hunting rig. The harness was field proven with the Kodiak and the holster does everything the competition cannot do! Designed for an abbreviated draw stroke through its open top, it allows for much faster target acquisition than a typical scabbard holster.

The Kodiak Hunter comes assembled and includes holster, shoulder strap and torso strap.

Made for large framed double/single action hunting revolvers and single-shot Thompson/Center guns, the Kodiak Hunter is available in havana brown.

How do I carry this?!
I am 70 years old and have never written a review but the Kodiack Hunter chest holster is such a high quality product that I have to say something. I purchased a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter 44 mag and mounted a scope on it. Now the problem was how do I carry it? I came across GALCO Holsters and though I struggled with the cost I ordered it. It was money well spent.The quality is amazing. My Ruger fit perfectly. Granted it initially was a tight fit but after working the leather it draws smoothly. The adjustability of the shoulder harness and strapes allow you to position your weapon right where you want it. Do yourself a favor and purchase a GALCO holster. The value far exceeds the cost.

Big Gun Dilemma
I finally found a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter .44 mag 7 1/2 barrel put a scope on it...now what do I do with it, how do I carry it? It's too big & heavy to carry on the hip, not very practical to carry in a shoulder rig either, then I stumbled across the Galco Kodiak Hunter Chest Holster...dilemma solved - it works perfect with that set up. I did have to go with the Ruger xhigh (no. 6) rings for both the clearance on the muzzle end to clear the holster and the rear sight to not contact the scope. The Havanna Brown color is very nice, very quality holster with lots of adjustment for all body sizes. I am very pleased with this holster and would recommend it to anyone looking to carry a big pistol.
