Description
Modern problems call for modern solutions! A direct descendant of Galco’s proven Jackass and Miami Classic designs, the Optic Solution brings 21st-century upgrades to the shoulder rig concept.
As its name implies, we’ve modernized this shoulder rig by making it compatible with most carry-style red dot optics, whether closer or open-emitter. This brings it in line with today’s modern EDC pistols.
The positioning of the holster’s swivel keepers hearkens back to Galco’s original Jackass designs, allowing adjustment to a muzzle up/butt down position to increase concealment. The holster may also be adjusted to a true horizontal carry. The horizontal positioning works best for users with deep chests and/or shorter-barreled pistols, while the diagonal helps smaller individuals conceal longer-barreled handguns.
The open-front horizontal magazine carrier, pioneered and perfected on the Miami Classic II, presents two spares ready for quick reloads. Twin tension units allow the user to set the magazines’ retention level.
The Optic Solution’s retention strap features a new thumb break that uses a multi-curved and scalloped polymer release to guide the thumb perfectly into the draw position. This allows the fastest, most ergonomic release of the retention strap and the smoothest draw.
On 1911 fits, the new thumb break uses Galco’s patent-pending deactivation block that positively engages the thumb safety when the pistol is holstered with the retention strap snapped. This thumb break is designed to carry the 1911 in the correct Condition One (cocked and locked) readiness mode.
The full-grain leather harness incorporates Galco’s durable Flexalon swivel plate, a Galco trademark, which allows each of the four straps to move independently for comfort. The straps measure 1.5” wide at the shoulders, balancing all-day carrying comfort with easy concealment.
