I still have old Galco rigs for S&W 39s & 59s.
Once in a while I might have to replace a thumb break snap (Tandy Leather to the rescue) but I still occasionally strap up with a 20th century Smith & Wesson Model 5904 in a Galco shoulder holster rig with a dual magazine pouch and a handcuff pouch. Some days I might carry a Model 19 revolver in another Galco rig. These are not my oldest shoulder holsters, but El Paso Custom Costume Leather is defunct now. El Paso Custom Costume Leather, NOT El Paso Saddlery. I have the same issues with those older much heavier leather rigs, replacing snaps & rivets. Wearing Galco stuff that is 30 or 40 years old is a testament to it's quality. Wearing it at all, is a testemant to it's fit, form, function and comfort. Some of my Galco rigs have decades of use, well over half a million miles of vehicle travel on them, and I can only guess at how many miles of foot travel. I have had to sleep with them on me, on numerous occasions too. I have had to buy holsters from Europe to use with the Galco systems, because Galco doesn't make holsters for some of my handguns. The old boutique shop owners I once used are dying off now, and just because it's a small boutiue custom shop doesn't mean it's going to be on par with Galco's quality.
