Best Sling for African Safari Rifle
I have been using the Safari Ching Sling on my last 2 African Safaris targeting cape buffalo and large plains game. I have used the sling to carry traditional wood stocked custom rifles in 375 H&H and in 404 Jeffery. These rifles weigh 10.5 and 10.75lbs respectively scoped but empty. For my 1st Buffalo we stalked for about 20 kilometres over about 8 hours stalking. The slings made carrying the rifle over such a long time bearable as the split nature of the leather allows it custom contour to your shoulder and stay there and not slide which is why a Cobra style sling is a bad idea. Yet you still have the benefit of the a larger contact area from the width of the 2 pieces of leather! This is the most comfortable sling I have used thus far and its very quiet. Mind you I bought this sling over 15 years ago and only managed to go on Safari in 2019 & 2022! Its perfect for Africa!
