Description
Initially introduced in 2003, the SSS has been updated based on Galco’s experience and market feedback in the intervening years.
Constructed of premium steerhide, the improved Side Snap Scabbard retains the quick on-off snap loops that fit belts up to 1 1/2”. The open top design remains the same, with the addition of a reinforced mouth for smooth and easy one-handed return to the holster. New to the SSS is a slight butt-forward cant, in contrast to the steeper angle of the earlier version. It keeps the adjustable tension unit and the comfortable, highly concealable forward-molded design of its predecessor, while adding a raised sweat guard to protect both the firearm and the gun carrier. Taken together, these features add up to a holster that is secure and convenient yet concealable with a very fast draw!
The improved Side Snap Scabbard is offered for right or left hand draw in black color.

Easy on & off, works with G19 Gen5 w/red dot
I bought an SSS Side Snap Scabbard (GEN 2) for it's quick on and off capability and was pleasantly surprised to find it is also compatible with my GLOCK 19 Gen5 MOS with an RMR Red dot sight. It doesn't have a lot of clearance, but it does have enough. The tension can be adjusted to give adequate retention without interfering with quick access and the profile and close to the body ride allows both good comfort while allowing concealability. I shoot ambidextrously and will probably order another holster for left side carry where the easy on off feature saves even more belt unthreading. Being a Galco leather holster, it isn't surprising that the stitching is excellent.

Great Quality Holster

Classic Galco Quality
Great fit, especially after proper break-in for my Colt. Easy on/off feature much appreciated. Will likely order next two for SIG P320 and Beretta 92. Would like to see one w/ thumb break for better retention for those of us who carry daily on the job.
