1. Full-size/compact pistols: system mag carrier will generally not accommodate extra-capacity or

extended magazines. To assemble a system for extended magazines for a pistol not listed in the

Gun Model pull-down menu above, please purchase holster, harness and extended mag carrier or horizontal mag carrier

as separate components.

2. Compact/subcompact pistols: if a full-size version of your pistol is available, the mag

carrier will generally also accommodate magazines from the full-sized pistol.

3. Please contact Galco customer service for further clarification as needed.

NOTE: Sleeved Magazines

May not properly accommodate magazines with exterior sleeves, as the baseplates will

rub together.

Description

Galco’s original VHS™ (Vertical Holster System) was field-proven across the globe from Afghanistan to America. Thousands were used by US military personnel fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Countless others are in use by US and international law enforcement, being particularly popular among police helicopter pilots. The VHS also provides an alternative for those who want the concealment of Galco’s Miami Classic but prefer the traditional vertical carry style.

Now, after over a decade of experience with the VHS, Galco has improved it further. The VHS 4.0™ brings a reshaping/redesign of the harness straps, replacement of harness screws with a key-hole harness fastener attachment, and the addition of an innovative new tie-down system.

A key component of the VHS 4.0 shoulder system is its spider harness. All four points of the spider harness can pivot independently and are connected by our clover-shaped, trademarked Flexalon™ swivel back plate. This, along with our patented swivel connectors, results in a perfect fit and lasting comfort for virtually all body sizes and shapes.

The 2.5" wide harness straps on the VHS 4.0 have been recontoured to enhance both comfort and concealment. The VHS 4.0 also features Galco’s improved key-hole harness fastener system that replaces the earlier screw-and-post system, resulting in greater security, ease of assembly, and greatly reduced chance of fastener loss.

The VHS 4.0 also introduces a new tie-down system that is simple to use, compact and concealable, and fully ambidextrous.

The VHS 4.0 comes complete with vertical holster, harness, ammo carrier, tie-downs and a set of harness fasteners. Fully modular, optional accessories and components for the VHS 4.0 may be purchased separately.

vertical shoulder holster

Last time I owned one of these, Galco was still Jackass Leather. I'm convinced that this is still the most comfortable way to carry a full sized pistol and 55 rds of 9mm. Love this thing.

This is my second, THAT great!

I’ve totally switched to a shoulder rig because of comfort, versatility and ease of access. My first rig was for a Glock 17 and I love it so much I got a second rig for a 4” 1911. There are other shoulder systems out there, and the Galco is the best in my opinion. This is a WELL made product at the price I would expect to pay for this level of quality. You can adjust it to fit perfectly and leave enough tail on each strap for seasonal adjustment; that said, I would order additional rivets (which are inexpensive and available) so that you can have extra adjustability while keeping the tails of the straps in alignment. I have trained live fire weekly with this system and am just as fast and accurate as appendix carry at this point. The main reason I switched to a shoulder system is that it is much easier and comfortable to carry larger firearms, which are much easier to be accurate than subcompact. There are lots of variables when choosing your EDC (emphasis on EVERY DAY) system, and everybody’s needs are different; this system is perfect for me and my lifestyle.
